I'm trying water mixable oils as a choice for painting trips. The "feel" of the paints is not as buttery, with a pulling and tighter sensation on the canvas. The advantage is eliminating Gamsol or other solvents while flying to and hiking in remote areas. Cleaning is still a challenge; but, the combination of a solvent-free gel and a brush soap cake may do the trick! I'll let you know how this goes...
